Welcome to Church Of Adullam

ABOUT

Church of Adullam (COA) is a Christian ministry that prioritizes spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples, and exemplifying Christ's love. Under the auspices of our Senior Pastor, Dr. Lamar and Lady Aisha Staples, our church endeavors to provide an atmosphere of love, safety, and acceptance, where all are encouraged to learn about our faith in Jesus Christ. C.O.A. was founded on the premise that faith can help us overcome any obstacles that life may bring. Through teaching the Bible, our goal is to encourage and uplift our community so that they may find joy and fulfillment in their lives. We strive to not only teach and spread the Gospel of Jesus, but to reflect Him in our daily works.

BACKGROUND

COA draws its name and mission from biblical narrative found in 1 Samuel 22:1, a story of refuge, courage and communal solidarity. In this cave, David gathers troubled, broken and marginalized followers (men in debt, discontent, and distressed) who become unlikely yet steadfast under God's providence.  COA positions itself as a modern echo of chapters 22 and 23 of 1 Samuel, a place where the vulnerable find shelter, the overlooked are welcomed, and the weak are emboldened to trust in God’s purposes even in the midst fear and persecution. Rooted in scripture, Adullam emphasizes authentic community, prayerful discernment, generous service, and courageous faith that is care about the welfare of others, while fostering accountability and mercy within a diverse body of believers.

OUR PASTOR'S HOPE FOR YOU

Pastor Lamar envisions Adullam as a thriving community shaped by those biblical themes; a fellowship where members discover their unique callings, support one another through trials, and grow in faithfulness to God’s leading. He prays his ministry mirrors David’s reliance on God, cultivating courage to pursue justice, relief for the marginalized, and care for the whole person (spiritual, relational, and practical). Ultimately, Pastor desires a church where members become a resilient, gospel-centered family that shares burdens, multiplies hope, and acts as a safe harbor for those seeking reconciliation, purpose, and the transforming power of God in daily life.

About Our Pastor

Dr. Lamar Staples is the founder and Lead Servant of Church of Adullam. He has a heart for God and a passion for making His Word accessible to all.  Like the Apostle Paul (1 Cor. 2:1-5), Pastor Lamar's sermonic style is both simple and profound.  Following the model of  Jesus (Matt 13:34-35), he possesses a rare gift of using vivid illustrations (parables) and demonstrations to bring biblical truths to life in a way that resonates with everyone. Pastor Lamar's ability to break down complex theological concepts into relatable, everyday language makes his sermons impactful and memorable.

As the leader of a vibrant, non-denominational Christian church, Pastor Lamar fosters an inclusive environment where all are welcome, regardless of background or status (Gal. 3:28). His messages transcend denominational lines, drawing from the rich tapestry of Scripture to inspire and challenge believers.

With a deep love for God, he approaches each sermon with humility and sincerity (Matt. 22:37-39), always aiming to point his congregation to the love, grace, and mercy of Jesus Christ.

His preaching is not only about delivering a message; it’s about creating an experience that invites people to experience God in a meaningful way. Through his unique style of engaging the congregation, Pastor Lamar brings the Bible alive (Heb. 4:12), helping people see how its ancient truths still speak to the challenges and joys of the world today.

Pastor Staples maintains that he is only a vessel and humbled to be chosen and used by God. He's determined to keep Christ at the center of his ministry and message. passionate about tearing down idols/pedestals,  and stands on Acts 10:25-26.

Pastor Staples has been married to the love of his life, Aisha Staples for almost three decades and have produced two beautiful children from this union.
